TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard D. Howe reports that the Tyngsborough Police Department is asking the public for assistance as they investigate an unarmed robbery in which a 77-year-old woman was grabbed by the head and robbed of a gold necklace.
On Tuesday, Nov. 7, Tyngsborough Police were notified of an unarmed robbery that occurred on Monday afternoon on Caroline Way in Tyngsborough.
A 77-year-old woman reported that on Monday, Nov. 6, between 3 and 3:30 p.m., she was walking on the sidewalk along Caroline Way when a black sport utility vehicle pulled up alongside of her. The vehicle was driven by a Hispanic male, between 30 and 40 years old, with a female passenger who was also Hispanic and between 30 and 40 years old.
The woman in the passenger seat motioned for the victim to come toward the vehicle, and when she did so the woman in the passenger seat grabbed the victim by the back of her head and pulled her toward the vehicle, removing a gold necklace from the victim’s neck while doing so.
The victim was not injured and did not seek medical attention.
The necklace is described as a gold rope chain with a pendant containing a family photograph.
