LUDLOW — Chief Daniel Valadas reports the Ludlow Police Department will seek a criminal summons against two Connecticut residents following the seizure of hundreds of marijuana plants yesterday.
PETER CAPECE, 40, OF MIDDLETOWN, CONNECTICUT and SANMIGUEL BAEZ-INFANTE, 34, OF NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT, will be charged with the following:
- Cultivation of Marijuana
- Drug Possession, Marijuana (12-Plus Plants)
On Tuesday, June 28 at approximately noon, Ludlow Police were made aware of a possible large marijuana grow operation in an industrial area off Letourneau Lane in Ludlow. Ludlow Police detectives responded and made contact with individuals within the building.
After conducting an investigation, detectives searched the building and located a sophisticated and large marijuana grow operation that included several marijuana grow rooms with large ventilation systems, fans, heaters, thermometers and fertilizers.
The Ludlow Police Department seized 494 marijuana plants in different stages of growth.
Both CAPECE and BAEZ-INFANTE will be arraigned at Palmer District Court at a later date.
