HULL — Chief John Dunn reports that the Hull Police Department arrested a male earlier Wednesday following a bank robbery and subsequent foot pursuit.
PERRY HAMILTON, AGE 40, OF HULL, was arrested on charges of:
- Unarmed Robbery
- Larceny From a Person
At approximately 3:30 p.m., the South Shore Regional Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from Rockland Trust Bank, located at 264 Nantasket Ave., for the report of a robbery. The caller stated that a male had just robbed the bank after handing a note to a teller, and proceeded to head out of the bank on foot towards the Paragon Carousel.
A description of the subject was provided to police.
Hull Police and units from the Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene and began a search of the area. Less than 15 minutes later Hull Police reported that they had spotted an individual, later identified as HAMILTON, matching the description that had been provided by employees at the bank, and were in a foot pursuit.
After a brief foot pursuit HAMILTON was taken into custody by Hull Police Officer Kevin Olson. He was transported to South Shore Hospital for evaluation.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
