EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Scott Allen is pleased to announce that Alexizz Xavier was sworn in as the town’s new Animal Control Officer last month.
ACO Xavier began working for the town in December and was officially sworn in at the Town Clerk’s Office on Monday, Dec. 30, 2019.
“We look forward to working with Alexizz and believe she’ll be a great asset to the department and the town,” Chief Allen said.
ACO Xavier has a passion for animals and previously worked at the VCA Hanson Animal Hospital as a Client Service Representative and Kennel Assistant.
She will attend the Reserve Intermittent Police Academy before attending the Animal Control Officers of Massachusetts Academy in March.
While she awaits her academy classes, ACO Xavier has been taking quarantine and dispatch calls for the department.
“I am thankful to the East Bridgewater Police Department for the opportunity they have given me and I look forward to using the skills I learn at the academies to help assist the community with animal services and education,” ACO Xavier said.
