JGPR Honored with Essex Heritage Pioneer in partnership award for role in Battle of Bunker Hill 250 Reenactment

BEVERLY – John Guilfoil Public Relations was honored to be part of a group that was given the Essex Heritage Pioneer in Partnership Award for our company’s role in the Battle of Bunker Hill 250 reenactment at Essex Heritage’s Fall Annual Meeting on Thursday, Oct. 16.

The Battle of Bunker Hill 250 reenactment was held on June 21-22 at Stage Fort Park in Gloucester and saw over 20,000 visitors to the event, which included over 1,000 reenactors and three battle reenactments each day.

JGPR’s role was to manage and coordinate media relations, media credentialing, social media, and the event website.

Through our team’s efforts, the event reached a global audience with over 125 media credentials issued for the weekend events, resulting in over 750 favorable media mentions spanning 47 states and at least 7 countries and reaching an audience of over 152 million. CSPAN also produced a one-hour special on the reenactment, with JGPR’s support.

JGPR also produced 22 video social media reels that accumulated over 837,000 views and reached 640,000 unique viewers. Three of the reels reached over 100,000 views within a few days of being posted. The Facebook account, 250th Anniversary Battle of Bunker Hill Reenactment, also accrued 900,000 views, 60,000 interactions, and 2,500 new followers between June 17-26. The event website also drew nearly 115,000 visitors in June.

The Pioneer in Partnership Awards are given annually to individuals and organizations in recognition of their leadership in building partnerships that preserve and enhance the heritage of the region.
