DRACUT — Police Chief Peter Bartlett reports that the Dracut Police Department is seeking information on a bank robbery that occurred in town yesterday.
At approximately 1:05 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, Dracut Police were dispatched to Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, 1345 Lakeview Ave., for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the Assistant Branch Manager at the bank, who stated that a male allegedly robbed the bank by passing a note to one of its bank tellers.
The male is described as tan-skinned, wearing a red hat and a blue and white disposable face mask. After receiving the money, he was said to have exited the bank on foot and turned left down Lakeview Avenue.
During the on scene investigation, Dracut Police reviewed surveillance footage with bank personnel. In the surveillance footage the male was seen entering the bank and allegedly passing the note to the teller. Footage shows the male exiting the bank and entering a vehicle (a Blue Mazda 3 believed to be a year 2014) that was parked at the end of the parking lot. The vehicle is seen driving out of the parking lot to the right.
Footage shows what appears to be a possible neck tattoo on the left side of the male’s neck, above the collar line.
Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to contact Dracut Police Detective Alex Gerrish at 978-957-2123 ext. 2047.
