STOW — Chief Michael Sallese wishes to inform the community that the Stow Police Department is accepting applications for two full-time officer positions.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license, and have (or be able to obtain) a license to carry.
Graduates of a Massachusetts Full-Time Academy are preferred. Current Academy attendees are urged to apply. Applicants who have not completed an Academy will be considered; those applicants must pass a Cooper Standards physical test given by the Department before being considered for an interview.
Preference will be given to applicants who submit two resumes and two cover letters no later than 5 p.m. on March 14. One resume and one cover letter must not contain name, address, and other personal information;this ensures a fair recruitment process in which the screening team evaluates applicants on skills and experience alone.

The positions start with a base salary between $56,773 and $61,336 annually. Officers are paid shift differential for the evening and midnight shifts. Officers will have the opportunity for overtime and paid details, plus educational incentives.
