Burlington Police Seek Residents’ Support in Battle of the Badges Blood Drive
BURLINGTON — Chief Michael Kent and the Burlington Police Department are pleased to announce that they are competing against the Burlington Fire Department in the Battle of the Badges blood drive, and hope residents will donate blood in support of the police department.

Thursday, July 12, from 1-6:30 p.m.

Burlington Recreation Department building, Murray-Kelly Room, 61 Center St.

WHAT:
The Burlington Police and Fire Departments have challenged each other to a Battle of the Badges blood drive, with both departments vying to have the most pints of blood donated on their behalf.
This friendly competition will help offset the shortage of blood that typically occurs in the summer months.
“Blood donations save countless lives each year,” Chief Kent said. “The goal of our competition is to help people in need, and we hope residents will volunteer to support this important cause.”
Anyone can take part in the contest and give blood to help the departments reach their goal of 50 units of donated blood — one unit can save up to three lives. The donation process typically lasts less than an hour.
The department with the most pints donated will win a trophy and bragging rights, at least until next year’s competition comes around.

Individuals looking to donate can streamline the donation experience by clicking here to complete the pre-donation reading and health history questions on the day of their appointment.
