Easton Police Arrest Man on Gun Charges Following Traffic Stop
EASTON — Chief Gary Sullivan reports that the Easton Police Department arrested a Brockton man on gun charges after an officer encountered his disabled vehicle Monday afternoon.
ADERITO AMADO, AGE 27, OF BROCKTON was charged with:
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License
- Improper Storage of a Firearm
- Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Providing a False Name to a Police Officer
At approximately 4:50 p.m., an Easton Police officer came across a disabled Infinity sedan in the area of 31 Belmont St. (Route 123).
The driver, later identified as AMADO, initially provided a false name to the officer.
Through the course of their investigation, Easton Police were able to determine AMADO’S identity and discovered that he did not have a valid driver’s license.
His vehicle was towed because it was causing a hazard in the roadway. The car was searched before it was towed and officers located a loaded .45 caliber handgun under the driver’s seat.
AMADO was subsequently placed under arrest.
AMADO was later released on $25,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Taunton District Court Tuesday morning.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
