Arlington’s Patrick Quinn Joins Board of NEMLEC Foundation
Marine Veteran and Owner of Quinn Group Insurance Agency Appointed Treasurer of 501(c)(3) Organization that Aids nearly 60
Massachusetts Police Departments
The NEMLEC Police Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce that insurance executive Patrick Quinn has joined the Foundation’s board of directors and will serve as its treasurer.
“I am honored and humbled to be a part of an organization whose sole mission is helping the police departments that make our communities safe,” Quinn said. “I hope to contribute meaningfully to the NEMLEC Foundation’s mission of providing funding and support to NEMLEC and its dozens of municipal police departments.”
Mr. Quinn, 42, of Arlington, was sworn into his voluntary position at the latest meeting of the NEMLEC Foundation, on April 17. He takes over for retired Burlington Police Chief Fran Hart, who previously held the position. He hopes to do more work with local and regional chambers of commerce and increase the Foundation’s outreach to local businesses.
Mr. Quinn owns Quinn Group Insurance Agency, Inc., with member agencies in Arlington, Winchester, and Rockport.
“Pat brings almost two decades of sound financial knowledge to the table, and the NEMLEC Foundation is proud to have him on our team,” said Sharon Crowley, the Foundation Coordinator. “We look forward to working with him as we gear up for our annual NEMLEC Police Foundation Golf Tournament, our biggest fundraiser of the year.”
The Foundation’s board of directors is comprised of police chiefs and local business leaders. The mix of police vision and local business knowledge is vital to the fundraising and program service goals of the NEMLEC Police Foundation. The Foundation is currently raising money for its annual Golf Tournament, the foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, with proceeds going directly to law enforcement programs in the NEMLEC region, which includes most of Middlesex County and Essex County. Partnerships with business leaders are vital in raising the money needed to continue the work of NEMLEC and the NEMLEC Police Foundation.
The 2014 NEMLEC Police Foundation Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Four Oaks Country Club in Dracut. For more information, or to become a sponsor, call 978-852-3589.
With funds raised in previous years, the Foundation has been able to offer prestigious trainings to hundreds of police officers in Middlesex and Essex counties, as well as elite training to NEMLEC units, including:
- School Threat Assessment Response System (STARS) Trainings
- Trained 150 detectives through our Two Week In-depth Criminal Investigation Training
- Supervisor Training through Roger Williams University
- Comprehensive motorcycle training for the NEMLEC Motor Unit
- Advanced Tactical Training (SWAT/RRT)
- K9 Training
