CARVER — Police Chief Marc Duphily, Fire Chief Craig Weston and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Chief Michael Ryan report that the Carver Police, Fire and EMS Departments responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, March 27 at 5:38 a.m. Carver, Police, Fire and EMS responded to the area of 240 Main St. for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, first responders discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a utility pole.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 56-year-old Carver woman, was transported by Carver EMS to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth where she was pronounced dead.
A portion of Route 58 was closed while investigators were on scene. One lane of traffic has since been reopened.
Carver Police are investigating the crash with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS).
