NORTHBOROUGH — Police Chief William E. Lyver reports that Northborough Police have charged a man after he was found traveling with a missing 15-year-old boy.
MICHAEL DAVIS, AGE 54, OF NO KNOWN ADDRESS, was arrested and charged with Custodial Interference.
On Thursday, Feb. 9, Northborough Police received a report that a 15-year-old boy from town was missing.
An intensive, two-month investigation followed, with Northborough Police Detective Kevin Fruwirth and Detective Sgt. William Griffin collaborating with law enforcement partners at the U.S. Marshal’s Service to track the missing boy to Florida and New York.
On Friday, April 7, the missing boy and an adult male, later identified as DAVIS, were both found on a passenger bus in New York City, where DAVIS was taken into custody on a warrant issued by Westborough District Court. DAVIS is related to the missing boy, but was not authorized to be in his company while traveling.
DAVIS waived rendition during an initial court appearance in New York City, and will be returned to Massachusetts in the coming days. An arraignment date in Massachusetts has not yet been set.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
