TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard Howe and the Tyngsborough Police Department report that officers located a missing Tyngsborough man in the Town of Dracut after a search on Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, Sept. 20, at approximately 11:19 a.m., a 30-year-old Tyngsborough man was reported missing by his family from the area of Althea Road.
Tyngsborough Police responded and began a search of the immediate area, quickly expanding the search when the man was not located. The Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council sent K-9 units and a team of officers on mountain bikes to assist the search.
The man was believed to experiencing a mental health crisis. He was located in Dracut about 2:30 p.m. He did not appear to be injured, but was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
“I want to thank all those who helped us search for this individual, who has been located unharmed and transported for evaluation,” said Chief Howe. “I am also grateful to our law enforcement partners at NEMLEC and the Dracut Police Department for their assistance.”
