WOBURN – Police Chief Robert Rufo reports that the Woburn Police Department located the body of a missing 73-year-old Arlington resident early Thursday morning with assistance from its law enforcement partners.
On Wednesday, June 1, at about 11:20 p.m., a woman reported that a relative did not return home after what was believed to be a walk in the area of Horn Pond. Multiple Woburn units were dispatched, while K-9 assistance was requested from the Massachusetts State Police.
Woburn officers located the man’s body on Thursday at about 12:22 a.m. in the area of the pond’s lagoon.
As is standard procedure, the death is under investigation by the Woburn Police Department, and State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s office. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
The Woburn Police Department extends its condolences to the man’s family and loved ones, and thanks its first responder partners for their assistance.
