WHAT
The Brookline Department of Planning and Community Development is in the process of creating a Housing Production Plan. The plan will help guide policy decisions over the next five years by identifying housing needs and recommending ways to address them.
The first forum was held on Jan. 26. The second forum will cover the following items:
- Report back on common values and concerns identified at the first community
forum and articulate a vision for the Housing Production Plan; - Highlight key findings of the Housing Needs Assessment;
- Explore goals for the Housing Production Plan;
- Review challenges to accommodating a variety of affordable and mixed-income
housing in Brookline; - Introduce and consider approaches to identifying zoning districts, areas, and
sites for future development of affordable and mixed-income housing in
Brookline.
Residents are asked to take a few moments to complete the Housing Production Plan survey. The survey will help to ensure that the plan aligns with the priorities and concerns of community members. This survey is live and will remain open through Friday, Feb. 18. To take the survey please click here.
After the second forum, consultants will review the demographics of attendees and identify groups missing from the discussion. Specific strategies will be developed to reach individuals from missing or underrepresented groups in order to engage them in the conversation.
