DRACUT — Chief Peter Bartlett reports that the Dracut Police Department responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash in town last evening.
At approximately 10:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, Dracut Police responded to a 911 call for a motor vehicle that had struck a tree in the area of Crosby Road and Sue Ann Drive.
Crews from the Dracut Police and Fire Departments, Trinity EMS and Lowell General Hospital Paramedics quickly arrived on scene. Upon arrival, officers found a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox had collided with a tree and sustained heavy damage. Two passing motorists had extracted the lone occupant of the vehicle, later identified as Michael Carroll, 25, of Dracut, and rendered aid prior to the arrival of first responders.
First responders took over providing aid to Carroll before he was transported to a nearby hospital by Trinity EMS at approximately 11 p.m. He was later pronounced dead.
Crosby Road was temporarily closed while crews were on scene, and was reopened at approximately 2 a.m.
