COHASSET — Town Manager Christopher Senior and Cohasset Housing Authority Chairwoman Taffy Nothnagle are pleased to announce the opening of a new home for disabled adults in the community.
The CHA officially cut the ribbon for Kate’s House on Tuesday, May 18, marking the successful competition of a long-standing effort to build a home for disabled adults.
Chairwoman Nothnagle served as master of ceremony at the event, which included many officials, volunteers and contractors who participated in the development and construction process of the home.
The building was named in memory of the late Kate Luna, the longtime Executive Director of the CHA who was instrumental in making the new home a reality. The project, which was several years in the making, will provide affordable and safe housing for disabled adults and seniors in the region.
Among those present for the ribbon-cutting were State Rep. Joan Meschino, State Senator Pat O’Connor, Select Board Vice-Chair Keri Thompson and member Jack Creighton, and CHA and Town staff.
“I would like to personally thank the many people who contributed to the construction and completion of Kate’s House both in Cohasset and beyond,” Chairwoman Nothnagle said. “This new home is much needed here in town and throughout the South Shore, and we are so glad that after many, many years of hard work and dedication we are able to celebrate the opening of the home.”
