At approximately 9:30 p.m., Proactive Enforcement Officer Lisa Mitton was on patrol on Vernon Street in the area of Boxwood Lane when she conducted a motor vehicle stop for a revoked registration.
Officer Mitton initiated a traffic stop of a 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck being driven by CARDONE. Inside the vehicle was a second male and two females.
When Officer Mitton questioned the driver about his registration, CARDONE was unable to locate his driver’s license or registration. At this time, the officer advised CARDONE that the vehicle was being towed because it was unregistered, and that the vehicle’s contents would be inventoried.
During the inventory Officer Mitton found a loaded 12 gauge shotgun.
CARDONE was subsequently placed under arrested.
The three other passengers were subsequently searched. MESSINGER’S backpack allegedly contained a loaded revolver with a brown handle, a medium-sized bag of marijuana, a hatchet, several knives, a scale and a box of pellets.
All four parties were brought to the Bridgewater Police Station for booking.
“I would like to commend Proactive Enforcement Officer Mitton for her due diligence during this traffic stop,” said Chief Delmonte. “Thanks to her efforts, we now have two more guns off the streets.”
CARDONE, MESSINGER, MCKEOWN and MARTIN were arraigned at Brockton District Court on Monday, Jan. 13.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
