Newport Police Ticket Driver Following Collision with Pedestrian
NEWPORT, VERMONT — Police Chief Seth DiSanto reports that the Newport Police Department ticketed a woman after she allegedly struck a pedestrian in a parking lot earlier today.
On Monday, Nov. 5, at 5:56 a.m. Newport Police and Newport Ambulance Service were dispatched to the parking lot at 475 Union St. for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers conducted an on-scene investigation and learned that the driver of the vehicle, CASSAUNDRA WHITE, AGE 30, OF NEWPORT, struck a pedestrian while attempting to turn into a parking spot.
The pedestrian, a 62-year-old female from Newport, suffered head and arm injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening, and was transported to North Country Hospital.
WHITE was ticketed for Operating After Suspension and Basic Rule With Accident Resulting.
