Andover Police Charge Man with Possession of Child Pornography
ANDOVER — Chief Patrick Keefe reports that the Andover Police Department arrested a man today after a multi-jurisdictional investigation concerning child pornography.
JOHN CURRAN, AGE 58, OF ANDOVER was arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography.
At 5 p.m. Wednesday, members of the Andover Police Department Detective Division served a search warrant on a home on Algonquin Avenue. CURRAN was arrested without incident at the scene, as a result of the search.
Andover Police were assisted at the scene by a member of the Massachusetts State Police Computer Forensic Unit and a member of the Rowley Police Department who is assigned as a Task Force Officer in the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force,
CURRAN was processed at the Andover Police Department and will likely be arraigned Thursday at Lawrence District Court.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. Any additional inquiries should be directed to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
