East Bridgewater Police Investigated Armed Robbery
Owners Were Urgently Moving Frozen Items from Location Without Power to Another Store When Robbers Struck
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Police Chief Scott Allen reports that the East Bridgewater Police Department is investigating after three men allegedly robbed a convenience store that had lost power in the nor’easter at gunpoint as the owners were urgently moving frozen items from the store without power to another location.
Officers responded just after 5:08 p.m. Saturday to the One Stop Convenience Store, located at 650 Plymouth St. The store had lost power in the historic March nor’easter, and the owners were on hand trying to save their inventory from spoiling when three masked men entered the store brandishing handguns and demanding money.
The suspects fled with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. The owners were not injured.
One suspect was described as wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt. The other two were wearing black jackets. All three suspects wore ski type masks.
A K-9 unit checked the area, and officers from Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, Halifax, and the Massachusetts Environmental Police all assisted East Bridgewater Police at the scene. The suspects were not found, and the incident remains under investigation.
Anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area yesterday or who may have information on this robbery is urged to call the East Bridgewater Police Department at 508-378-7223.
