East Bridgewater Police Investigating Hit and Run Crash Involving Bicyclist
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Scott Allen reports that the East Bridgewater Police Department is investigating a hit and run motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist that occurred last night. Police are asking for the public’s assistance identifying the car involved.
On Aug. 1, just before 7:30 p.m, officers responded to multiple reports of a crash involving a bicyclist on Washington Street. Upon arrival, police learned that a bicyclist, who was going against traffic, was clipped by the side view mirror of a car traveling northbound on Washington Street.
Police found witnesses tending to the bicyclist, a 17-year-old East Bridgewater resident, who was later transferred to Brockton Hospital with minor injuries.
Witnesses describe the suspect’s car as a black two-door convertible. After the crash, the driver allegedly fled north on Washington Street towards Whitman.
Anyone with any information regarding this crash is asked to contact the East Bridgewater Detective Division or Sgt. Steven Brown at 508-378-7223.
