North Reading Police Investigating After Truck Crashes into Home

NORTH READING  — Chief Michael P. Murphy reports that the North Reading Police Department is investigating Tuesday afternoon after a tractor-trailer truck crashed into a home.

North Reading Police and Fire responded shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday to 219 Park St. Upon arrival, units found an 18-wheel truck had crashed into the front entryway of the single family home.

Residents were home at the time, but neither the driver of the truck nor the residents were hurt.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the tractor-trailer may have been cut off by another motor vehicle, causing the truck driver to lose control. The investigation is ongoing.

The entryway of the home sustained damage, but the home is not believed to be a total loss.
