Wenham Police Provide Update on Power Outage Situation in Town
Wenham Police Provide Update on Power Outage Situation in Town
WENHAM — Police Chief Thomas Perkins and the Wenham Police Department are providing an update conditions related to the Blizzard of 2015/Winter Storm Juno.
Power is currently out in the Parsons Hill Road neighborhood of Wenham, and National Grid advises that power will not be restored until at least 7 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday).
Any resident affected by this outage should contact Wenham Police immediately at 978-468-4000 to ascertain if they are in need of services or if they need to be relocated to the town’s emergency shelter.
The Wenham Fire Department is open as a shelter, and if there is additional need, the Town of Wenham will open the Buker School as an emergency shelter tonight.
Wenham Police and Fire personnel will be going through the neighborhood, knocking on doors and performing well-being checks on residents as long as the power is out.
“I encourage all residents to check on their neighbors, especially those who are elderly, who live alone, or who may be ill,” Chief Perkins said. “A community is defined by how well it comes together during a crisis. We, as emergency workers, will be out in the neighborhoods, but if you see something or know someone who may need our help, please let us know.”
If you have an emergency, dial 911. You can also reach Wenham Police at 978-468-4000.
