Rob joined JGPR in August 2021 after spending over two decades in the daily newspaper business, including over 19 years at The Sun in Lowell, where he worked mostly as a crime and breaking news reporter.
Beyond just the nightly beat of crime, fires, crashes and rescues, Rob has covered some of the biggest stories of the last 20 years, as well as ongoing tragedies such as the opioid epidemic and mental health crisis. While tragedy often makes the biggest headlines, Rob was also moved by the efforts first responders have made to address each crisis with compassionate and forward-looking initiatives.
Rob’s twin sons, daughter, and wife motivated him to seek a new chapter in his professional life, speaking up to tell the stories of police, firefighters, small towns and non-profits.
Rob’s multimedia journalism earned him recognition from the International Association of Firefighters for fire videos and online news stories, and recognition from the New England Newspaper and Press Association for writing, photography, and using social media to cover breaking news. Rob has also been recognized by the City of Lowell and Community Teamwork, Inc., of Lowell, for innovative communication, and is the proud owner of a key to the City of Lowell.
