RAYNHAM — Chief Bryan LaCivita is pleased to announce that the Raynham Fire Department was awarded a $25,000 grant from the Bristol County Savings Bank’s Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation.
On Friday, Jan. 14, members of the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation presented a $25,000 check to Chief LaCivita, Lt. Bradford Carr and Raynham Board of Selectmen Chair Joseph Pacheco at the station.
The Raynham Fire Department will use the grant funds to purchase additional safety equipment and conduct training programs.
“Protective equipment and trainings are necessary for ensuring the safety of not only our firefighters but our community members who we interact with during emergency services,” Chief LaCivita said. “We thank the foundation for their generous grant award and for their continued support of first responders throughout Bristol County.”
The donation to the Raynham Fire Department was part of $325,000 in funding that is being awarded to fire departments in 13 communities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Northern Rhode Island with Bristol County Savings Bank branches. Since the Foundation was formed in 1996, more than $25 million has been committed to hundreds of local nonprofits.
“For the past 25 years, our Foundation has been supporting the neighborhoods where our customers live and work. This grant is our way of celebrating that accomplishment and thanking the brave men and women of the Raynham Fire Department who consistently put themselves at risk on our community’s behalf,” said Patrick Murray, President of the Foundation and President & CEO of the Bank. “We hope the funds will assist the fire departments in their critical, life-saving efforts throughout the communities we serve.”
