WEYMOUTH — Superintendent Jennifer Curtis-Whipple is pleased to announce that the district will host its second annual Caregiver Resource Fair virtually this year.

WHAT:
Community members are invited to attend Weymouth Public Schools’ free virtual Caregiver Resource Fair this upcoming Thursday night to learn more about the programs the Quincy Family Resource Center (QFRC) and Quincy Community Action Program (QCAP) have available to assist families with basic needs.
At the virtual fair, the Quincy Family Resource Center will review their tiers of support available to families and discuss their monthly group offerings while the Quincy Community Action Program will conduct a brief introduction/overview of all its programs before they take a deeper dive into the support available through the Financial REACH Center. Both the Quincy Family Resource Center and Quincy Community Action Program offer free programs for the Weymouth community. Some QCAP programs that will be discussed also don’t have any income limitations, and all QFRC resources are free and not insurance-based.
Jim Graham and Karen Gurry, financial coaches at the Financial REACH Center, will also talk about their specific program. District-wide wraparound counselor Brynn Cooper will also briefly discuss additional community-based resources available to Weymouth families for food and housing.
“We encourage all parents and guardians to take advantage of this free event and learn more about the resources available to them and their children within our community,” Superintendent Curtis-Whipple said. “We also encourage families within our district to familiarize themselves with the resources we have available in our schools for our students. To truly have a thriving Social Emotional Learning (SEL) education within our schools, we need to ensure that our families and community partners are involved in meeting the needs of our students as well.”
There will be time allotted at the end of the fair for attendees to asks questions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to complete a Google Form if they would like to further connect with any of the presenters.
