Public Invited to Attend First Public Hearing on Portsmouth School Department’s Fiscal 19 Budget

PORTSMOUTH — Superintendent Stephen Zadravec announces that the School Board will hold its first public hearing for the Portsmouth School Department’s fiscal 19 budget this week.

WHEN:

Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m.

WHERE:

Eileen Dondero Foley City Council Chambers, City Hall, 1 Junkins Ave.

WHAT:

Budget season is underway for the upcoming fiscal year and residents who wish to provide feedback on certain line items, ask questions, or voice support or concerns should attend the meeting tomorrow night.

The meeting will also serve as an opportunity for Superintendent Zadravec to share the district’s goals with the board and community, including its focus on closing the opportunity and achievement gaps for all students.

“We’re just beginning the budget process and would like to encourage all who are interested in being a part of this conversation to attend the public hearing tomorrow night,” Superintendent Zadravec said. “This is a great opportunity for residents to not only share their thoughts, but to learn about all the great work that’s been going on so far this year.”
