Rockland’s Jefferson Elementary School to Host Fourth Annual “Fun Run” to Raise Money for School Events and Activities
Principal to become “Student for a Day” if Fundraising Goal is Reached
ROCKLAND — Jefferson Elementary School Principal announces that the school is hosting a student “Fun Run” fundraiser to support the work, activities, and events that occur each year at the school.
WHEN: Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 from 8:15 to 2:05 p.m.
WHERE: Jefferson Elementary School, 34 James St, Rockland
The Jefferson Elementary School Fun Run is organized by the school’s Parent Advisory Council in coordination with Boosterthon Elementary School Fun Runs (Booster Enterprises, Inc.)
For the fourth year in a row, K-4 students are asking family members and friends to sponsor each student’s run of 30-35 laps around the school’s softball field, which will include hopping, skipping, jumping, dancing, walking backwards, and walking to music all in an effort to meet a fundraising goal of $10,000 to support the programs and services offered each year.
The Fun Run starts at 8:15, with each grade running in 50 minute increments.
If the $10,000 fundraising goal is reached, Principal Michelle Scheufele will become a “student for the day,” and the staff will dress as superheroes for one school day.
This is the school’s primary fundraiser for the year, and parents and the media are more than welcome to attend.
Money raised is used to supplement the school’s budget and to support programs like Top Secret Science, author visits, field trips, special events (Halloween Dances, Special Person Dances, Movie Nights, BINGO, Field Day), and to purchase classroom supplies and technology.
Members of the public wishing to make a donation can send a check made out to theJefferson PAC, 93 George St., Rockland, MA 02370.. The donation will be added to the running tally for the Fun Run.
