Easton Firefighters Graduate from Fall River Firefighting Academy
EASTON — Chief Kevin Partridge is pleased to announce that three firefighters graduated from the Fall River Firefighting Academy last week.
Firefighters Carse Brown, Matthew Ingeno and Antonio Ioannidis were among the 22 firefighters representing four fire departments to graduate from the Fall River Firefighting Academy’s 29th class on Friday, Aug. 16.
The 10-week program teaches the essentials of fire and non-fire conditions, life safety, search and rescue, ladder operations, water supply, pump operation and fire attack.
Brown, Ingeno and Ioannidis were also presented with a citation by from Massachusetts State Senator Mike Brady and Massachusetts State Representative David DeCoste.
All three firefighters were appointed to the department in March. Following graduation, they are now certified as Firefighter I/II.
Brown, age 25, has worked as a paramedic for Brewster Ambulance Service since 2014. Brown completed his first shift assigned to Group 1 on Tuesday.
Ingeno, age 29, has worked as a paramedic for Brewster Ambulance Service since 2015. He also previously worked at RE Lyons & Son Fire Equipment in Rockland. Ingeno completed his first shift assigned to Group 3 yesterday.
Ioannidis, age 23, has worked at Brewster Ambulance Service since 2017 and as a paramedic in Fall River since November. He also previously worked at the Waitsfield-Fayston Fire Department and Mad River Valley Ambulance, both in Vermont. Ioannidis completed his first shift assigned to Group 2 on Wednesday.
“I am proud to congratulate these three newest members of our department on their graduation from this program,” Chief Partridge said. “These firefighters have completed extensive training and I look forward to seeing the contributions each firefighter will make to our department and community.”
The other 19 graduates represented the fire departments of Fall River, Somerset and Fairhaven.
