LENOX — Lenox Public Schools would like to invite parents, guardians, and caregivers of Lenox students to an event detailing measures they can take to improve security on their children’s personal devices.

The Duffin Theater, Lenox Memorial Middle High School, 197 East St.
WHAT:
Pittsfield-based company Independent Connections will host a presentation for parents and guardians about how to limit what children can access on their smartphones.
The presentation will cover topics including:
- Best parental controls and practices
- Built-in controls within Apple/Android phones
- Control software and how they work: FamiSafe, Bark, Net Nanny
- Phone permissions and security management
- Action plan; recommendations and how to get started
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session and documentation sheets with step-by-step processes to install software will be provided.

The District hopes to host a second part of this presentation in the near future, where representatives from Independent Connections will help parents/guardians to set up these security measures on their devices.
