ATTLEBORO — Superintendent David Sawyer and Wamsutta Middle School Principal Kevin Atkinson are pleased to share that the National Junior Honors Society at Wamsutta Middle School organized a “Family Feud” trivia night fundraiser on April 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The event, which took place in the Wamsutta Middle School cafeteria, raised over $400 for the Hebron Food Pantry in Attleboro through ticket sales and entry fees. Approximately 30 teams of four, comprised of Wamsutta Middle School students and families, competed to answer “Family Feud-style” questions based on a survey of eighth graders. Around 100 audience members were present.
Assistant Principal Andrew Benharris played the role of game show host, and teachers Kimberly Camara-Boyer and Tamre Philips-Ramos helped organize the event with Junior National Honors Society members.
The winner of the competition, a team of eighth graders, received a gift basket from Bliss Restaurant & Ice Cream Shop in Attleboro. The second-place team received a basket with a gift certificate to Dunkin’.
“Instilling an importance on giving back to the community is a vital message we try to impart on our students at Attleboro Schools,” Superintendent David Sawyer said. “To raise money for a local food pantry while also bringing our Attleboro families together for a night of fun is a win!”
