EASTON — Chief Justin Alexander is pleased to announce that firefighter Jack Mills graduated from the Brockton Fire Department’s Training Academy on Friday and will join the Easton Fire Department on shift.
On Friday, April 5 firefighter Jack Mills graduated alongside members of the Brockton, Abington, Stoughton, Easton, Scituate, and North Attleboro Fire Departments at the Brockton Fire Department’s Training Academy. The 13-week academy prepares firefighters for basic firefighting, including search and rescue, ladder operations, water supply, pump operation, fire attack and life safety lessons, as well as non-fire responses and hazardous material response.
Mills, a North Easton resident, comes from the Raynham Fire Department where he has served as a firefighter/paramedic since 2023. Since 2020, Mills has also held the position of paramedic for the Marion Fire Department.
Prior to his roles in Raynham and Marion, Mills served as a tabletop exercise designer for Operation New Eagle, where he designed and conducted a tabletop exercise for the City of Boston Office of Emergency Management. He has also held the position of Chief of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Emergency Medical Services Department and as a field training officer/EMT for Transformative Health Care in Wellesley.
Mills holds a bachelor’s degree in emergency management from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
He follows in the footsteps of his father, Easton firefighter Chris Mills, who has served the Easton Fire Department since 1997.
“On behalf of the Easton Fire Department, I would like to congratulate firefighter Jack Mills for graduating from the academy,” said Chief Alexander. “We are proud to see Jack follow in his father’s footsteps, now equipped with the vital knowledge and skills needed to serve our community. I would also like to thank the Brockton Fire Department for hosting this amazing training academy program.”
