STONEHAM – Treasurer Bee Russo is pleased to share that the Stoneham Historical Society and Museum (SHSM) is actively seeking donations to benefit the ARTchiving Stoneham campaign.
ARTchving Stoneham, the overarching effort to preserve and conserve the “Stoneham, Yesterday and Today” mural, is specifically seeking funding for the cleaning, restoration and reinstallation of the mural at SHSM.
Donations can be made online or via check mailed to the Stoneham Historical Society, 36 William St., Stoneham, MA 02180.
All checks should be payable to Stoneham Historical Society–Mural.
To date, SHSM has raised a total of $101,000 through grants and private donations of the necessary$150,000needed to complete the project.
The Stoneham Historical Society and Museum would like to recognize and thank two anonymous donors for their generous contributions. A special thank you is also extended to StonehamBank for its early support of the project and grant funding, as well as to those responsible for grants at Bank of America and MELD.
“On behalf of the Stoneham Historical Society and Museum, I want to thank each individual and organization who has offered their support to us so far,” said Russo. “What began as an effort to rescue the mural from being lost forever has evolved into a true educational endeavor and we look forward to continuing onto the next phase of ARTchiving Stoneham.”
