EAST KINGSTON – Chief Ed Warren reports that the East Kingston Fire Department responded to a crash in the same location as one in that occurred last week.
On Saturday, June 24, at approximately 12:54 a.m., East Kingston firefighters received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash involving a utility pole on East Road in the area of the Apple Hill Golf Course.
Companies responded to find a car has crashed into a utility pole, snapping it. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
On June 17, another vehicle crashed into a utility pole in the same location. In that instance, two off-duty firefighters teamed up to pull the driver from a vehicle moments before it became engulfed in flames.
On Saturday, East Road was closed in the area until about 12:50 p.m. so that the utility pole could be replaced once again.
East Kingston Fire and East Kingston Police were assisted at the scene by the Kingston Fire Department, the Kingston Police Department, and the Kensington Police Department.
