ROCKLAND — Principal Janice Sheehan is pleased to announce that over 400 students and families from the Memorial Park School attended a Farewell Pasta Family Night last week to bid farewell to their school before they move into the brand-new Phelps Elementary School following the holiday break.
The event was held on Tuesday, Dec. 8, and saw the school’s cafeteria and gym turned into a makeshift restaurant where families could sit around tables and eat together.
Following the dinner, students took turns drawing with markers on wall tiles in the hallway to leave a message or drawing as a way to say goodbye to their school.
“It was fantastic seeing all of the families enjoying a meal together and talking around the tables,” Principal Sheehan said. “It was a fitting way to let our families say goodbye to the Memorial Park School, as it will be bittersweet to leave this school for the last time next week. With that said, I know everyone is so excited to go to the Phelps School and begin a new adventure in our brand-new building.”
Principal Sheehan would like to thank Players Bar and Grill in Rockland, Poland Springs and the Memorial Park staff and families that helped make the event possible.
