SOUTHBRIDGE — It is with deep regret that Superintendent/Receiver Jeffrey Villar announces that a Southbridge High School student passed away unexpectedly Friday morning.
Counselors have been made available to assist students and staff during this time and will be available throughout the day and the coming weeks as the school community mourns the passing of this student.
Students and the entire school community are encouraged to talk to counselors, faculty and parents, as this tragedy is sure to raise emotions, concerns, and questions by all.
“We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of our students. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of this student and school community,” Superintendent/Receiver Villar said. “I want to express the importance of speaking with a trusted adult about what our students may be feeling or going through during this difficult time. We have counselors readily available to help and assist anyone who may be struggling with this news. It is important to come together as a school community and help each other heal from this tragedy.”
The name of the student has not been released out of respect for the family. No other information is available at this time.
