MARION — Town Administrator James McGrail and Town Clerk Lissa Magauran would like to remind community members of voting information for the Massachusetts State Primary.
The 2022 Massachusetts State Primary will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
The last day to register to vote for the State Primary is Saturday, Aug. 27. The Town House, located at 2 Spring St., will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day. Residents also may register to vote online at www.sec.state.ma.us until 11:59 p.m.
Voting by Mail
The State mailed Early Voting (EV) Application Postcards to all those who were registered to vote as of July 5, 2022. Anyone who has not received an EV Application Postcard yet should contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 508-748-3502 or lmagauran@marionma.gov, and an EV Application will be mailed.
The town has also begun to mail out Absentee/Early Voting Ballots and those who have requested one should receive it soon. If you wish to vote in person, write “VOID” on the application you received from the state and discard it.
The last day to request a vote by mail ballot is Monday, Aug. 29, at 5 p.m.
In-Person Early Voting
In-person early voting will be held at the Marion Town House, 2 Spring St., on the following dates:
- Saturday, Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Monday, Aug. 29, through Thursday, Sept. 1, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 2, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
An additional in-person early voting session will be held at Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center, 465 Mill St. on Monday, Aug. 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
All registered voters who haven’t already voted by mail are welcome at any of the sessions.
Primary Day Voting Hours and Location
Voting on the day of the primary election, Sept. 6., will take place at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
