CANTON — Superintendent Derek Folan, Athletic Director Danny Erickson and Canton High School Principal Jeff Sperling are pleased to share that girls basketball senior Fay Gallery has surpassed the 1,000th point milestone.
On Friday, March 4, Gallery scored her 1,000th point. She scored 19 points that night in a 56-49 win against Tewksbury.
Gallery is the third girls basketball player to score 1,000 points at CHS. She joins Eileen Morneau, Class of 1996 and teammate Kiara Cerruti, Class of 2022 in this achievement.
“This is a tremendous accomplishment, and to have two team members achieve this milestone in one year demonstrates the talent and dedication of this season’s team,” Director Erickson said. “We are very proud of Fay – she is an incredible member of our team and role model for her younger teammates.”
Gallery has the most assists on the team with 82 and the most steals on the team with 95. As of Feb. 28, Gallery was second in scoring in the Hockomock league with an average of 18.6 points per game.
Gallery has played multiple sports throughout her high school career, participated in youth league clinics and camps, and helped lead the team to 50 wins in her four years.
“To reach 1,000 points for any high school player requires consistency and continuous improvement in overall game skills. Fay was already an outstanding basketball player when she came into high school, but the growth in her overall game, combined with her leadership skills really developed her into a complete player,” Head Coach Jim Choquette said. “Our coaching staff and entire program are extremely proud of Fay’s individual accomplishments, and of what this team has been able to achieve together.”
