In preparation for the upcoming Nov. 1 Special Town Meeting, the Board of Selectmen will be hosting a Special Town Meeting Warrant Article Informational Session this Monday. At the session, community members will have the opportunity to learn more about the 40 warrant articles being presented at the Special Town Meeting.
In attendance will be the Board of Selectmen, department heads, boards and committee members who have proposed the warrant articles. During the session, they will present additional information about their proposed warrant articles and be able to answer any community members’ questions.
Presentations will also be accompanied by any recommendations that have been made thus far by the Board of Selectmen and Finance Committee on their respective articles.
“It’s important that we provide residents with background and information so we are all able to make informed decisions in preparation for the November 1st Special Town Meeting,” Board of Selectmen Chairman Kenneth Pacheco said. “The Board of Selectmen places a top priority on providing accessible and transparent information to residents. We hope to see everyone take advantage of this opportunity to familiarize themselves with the proposed warrant articles and hear from the different boards, committees and department heads in attendance.”
Included in the proposed warrant articles is an article for funding to pay for the debt service on the new police department building to reduce the tax rate, as well as proposals for a number of capital investments, proposed bylaws, street acceptances and a number of other matters.
