WHITMAN — Superintendent Jeffrey Szymaniak and Whitman-Hanson Regional High School art instructor Christina Maher are pleased to share that four WHRHS artists are having their work displayed in a special exhibit this month.
On Thursday, Aug. 5, the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset was set to hold an opening for the annual Blue Ribbon Members Exhibit. The show will run from Aug. 5 to Sept. 4.
WHRHS students Eryka Ingram, Lily Hawk, Connor Gouthro and Nina Gorman have taken part in a special program called the “Inspired I.” As part of the program, each student took part in 12 three-hour classes run by guest artists and coordinated by printmaker and SSAC Education Coordinator Tony Pilla and Executive Director Patrice Maye.
In addition to having their artwork exhibited alongside the artists who mentored them throughout the process, the students will receive stipends from a generous donor for completing the program.
“We are incredibly proud of each of these four talented young artists for being featured in this show, and we encourage the community to visit the South Shore Art Center to check out their work on display,” Maher said.
