ANDOVER — Interim Superintendent Claudia Bach thanks the Andover High School’s Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) for their generosity and acknowledgement of the Andover High School teachers and staff.
During the week of March 15, the AHS PAC members coordinated “Adopt a Department” events for the faculty and staff at the high school. Over the course of the week, parents brought all staff — teachers, hall monitors, instructional assistants, custodians, food service staff, administrators, main office staff, nursing staff, social workers and guidance counselors — either breakfast, a pizza lunch or an assortment of afternoon snacks. These treats were delivered by their “adopted” AHS parents.
“We are grateful for this incredible gift recognizing the work of the high school staff and teachers,” Superintendent Bach said. “Over the last year, they have gone above and beyond to ensure our students have a safe, welcoming learning environment as we’ve navigated through the pandemic. Thank you to the members of the Parent Advisory Committee for helping celebrate their hard work and achievements during this challenging time.”
On Tuesday, for example, PAC members brought breakfast items for hall monitors, custodians, food service staff, administrators, nursing staff, social workers and guidance counselors.
“The Breakfast Bag of Treats from PAC made my day!” AHS Guidance Counselor Kim Bergey said. “From the best cinnamon scone I’ve ever had to delicious fresh fruit and a mini jar of jam, it was the perfect pick-me-up during such a challenging year. Thank you, PAC, for nourishing the high school staff—what a wonderful surprise!”
The Andover High School PAC is a voluntary, non-profit organization that supports the school by promoting a spirit of cooperation among the student body, the administration, faculty and the community. More information about the group can be found here.
