MANSFIELD — Superintendent Teresa Murphy is pleased to announce that Roland Green Preschool is offering a series of virtual workshops for parents and families centered around supporting preschool-aged students in a variety of ways.
“These virtual workshops are a great opportunity for parents and families to hear from qualified professionals at no cost,” said Roland Green Preschool Director Krista DeMello. “Topics will range from supporting social-emotional development to how to talk to children about difficult situations. We feel they would be valuable to a wide range of parents and families.”

The first workshop will take place Thursday, Jan. 28 from 6 to 7 p.m, and focuses on managing challenging behaviors. It features two professionals who will give strategies and information on managing difficult behaviors in young children.
The second workshop will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 2 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and pertains to developing receptive, expressive and pragmatic social language in children. Age appropriate play, language development and social learning will all be highlighted in this presentation.
The next workshop, Supporting Social Emotional Development at Home, will be held Wednesday, Feb 10. from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will emphasize different ways that parents can help their children with social-emotional development in typical daily life as well as during situations such as a pandemic.
The final workshop will take place Thursday, Feb. 25 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The talk will focus on social, emotional and behavioral development in early childhood. The workshop will be an hour-long talk about ways that parents can help their children master age appropriate skills through play and interaction.
“We are very excited to offer these programs that can directly benefit our families,” Superintendent Murphy said. “We encourage all parents and families to sign up and learn more about their impact on the development of children while at home.”

Roland Green Preschool is a public preschool that educates peer (traditional) model and special education students from the town of Mansfield. They have an inclusive classroom environment that incorporates a thematic based curriculum for students ages 3 and up.
