DIGHTON — Amid the holiday season, the Dighton Board of Selectmen wishes to share their gratitude for the significant outpouring of support the town has received from community members throughout the last year.
“This year proved to be extremely trying for all of us, yet in the middle of a pandemic it was heartwarming to see everyone come together to help their neighbors through this time,” Board of Selectmen Chairman Brett Zografos said. “We are extremely thankful for not only our community’s continued support, but of their work supporting one another. We hope to see this sense of community and support continue to thrive in the New Year once the global pandemic hopefully slows down.”
In the video, the Dighton Board of Selectmen highlight groups and individuals that have stood together in support of one another throughout the tumultuous year. These community members came together to help their neighbors while healthcare professionals, first responders and other essential workers stood on the front lines combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Thank you town employees who have continued to do their jobs under difficult circumstances,” Selectman Nancy Goulart said. “Working from home, splitting shifts, and doing what you can so that we can continue to serve the people of the Town of Dighton.”
In the video, Chairman Zografos also thanked the Dighton Board of Health and Town Nurse Lori Desmarais, who have worked tirelessly throughout the year to take care of community members in their time of need.
“To our teachers, support staff, administrators, custodians and cafeteria workers, we thank you for making our schools safe this year and for going the extra mile,” said Selectman Kenneth Pacheco.
The Town of Dighton remains available to assist the public in any way during the ongoing pandemic. Residents with questions may contact the Dighton Board of Health at 508-669-5182.
As everyone looks forward to 2021, the Dighton Board of Selectmen wishes everyone a happy and safe New Year!
