MIDDLEBOROUGH – Chief Lance Benjamino is pleased to share that the Middleborough Fire Department escorted Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus to the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home on Wareham Street to spread some holiday cheer on Sunday, Dec. 20.
Middleborough Tower 3 made multiple laps and a few stops around the complex while Mr. and Mrs. Claus waved to all the residents.
The special visit was arranged after Activities Director Ashley Stuart requested a fire truck to bring Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus to the Shaw Home to bring some cheer to residents who are restricted to their rooms, and the Middleborough Fire Department was happy to participate.
“I thought it was a great idea, and by keeping Mr. and Mrs. Claus in the bucket of the tower we were able to maintain social distancing and the residents could say hello through their windows,” Chief Benjamino said. “During these extraordinary times it is important to be able to spread cheer and bring the spirit of the holidays to people however you can. As always, the Middleborough Fire Department wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season.”
