HOLLISTON — Holliston High School Principal Nicole Bottomley is pleased to announce a Senior Car Parade will be held this weekend to honor this year’s graduating class.
WHEN:
- Sunday, June 7
- Seniors who are participating are asked to arrive at the starting point by 12:30 p.m., and the parade will begin at 1 p.m.
WHERE:
The parade will start at the Placentino School entrance, 235 Woodland St., and end at Holliston High School, 370 Hollis Street.
WHAT:
Holliston High School seniors will have an opportunity to take part in a parade on what was to be the date of their graduation ceremony, which has been delayed until July due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More details about an eventual commencement will be provided when they become available.
The parade will follow an 11 mile route through the Town of Holliston, concluding at Holliston High School. The conclusion of the parade will consist of a loop around the school during which students are encouraged to honk their horns to signify the end of the parade and celebrate the completion of their high school careers.
All participants must remain in their cars at all times. No one will be allowed out of their cars at any point while lining up or during the parade.
Additionally, in order to allow seniors to focus on the excitement of the parade without having to worry about the road and to avoid distractions while driving, a parent or guardian is required to drive the vehicle.
There is one car allowed per senior and senior students will not be allowed to drive each other. Seniors are encouraged to wear their caps and gowns during the parade and car decorations are allowed. Residents are encouraged to line the parade route near their homes to wish seniors well, and maintain social distancing while doing so.
No vehicles will be permitted to park or remain on school grounds.
All who attend the parade should follow social distancing guidelines, and wear a cloth face mask or covering. Participants must disperse from the area after the parade is completed and may not congregate afterwards in order to comply with social distancing guidelines.
