LANGDON– Superintendent Lori Landry announces that the last day of the 2019-2020 school year will be June 5.
The Fall Mountain Regional School Board approved the change to the district’s calendar at its Monday, April 27, meeting, which was held remotely. The last day of school for students will be Friday, June 5, and teachers will end the school year on June 17. The change still allows the district to meet all state requirements for the length of the school year, and also accounts for the district’s four snow days.
“The past several weeks have been challenging and our faculty, staff, parents, guardians and students have worked so hard to ensure learning has continued even while our facilities have been closed due to COVID-19,” Superintendent Landry said. “This calendar change will allow students and their families to transition to a more comfortable schedule and get a much-needed reprieve from this time of uncertainty. It is our hope the entire Fall Mountain community will be able to utilize the summer break this year to rest, enjoy the warmer weather and return to school refreshed in the fall.”
From June 8-17, teachers will finish grading, complete year-end tasks and begin planning for the 2020-2021 school year.
The district will provide additional information to students, parents and guardians about the end of the school year closer to June 5.
