EASTON — Chief Kevin Partridge and the Easton Fire Department are pleased to announce that Easton firefighter recruit Kevin Agrella graduated from the Massachusetts Fire Academy last week.
On Friday, April 24, Firefighter Agrella graduated from the 282nd class of the Massachusetts Firefighter Academy. Graduates were recognized by Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey at the Department of Fire Services headquarters in Stow with a certificate. The academy had to forgo the ceremony typically hosted to recognize recruits in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 10-week program teaches the essentials of fire and non-fire conditions, life safety, search and rescue, ladder operations, water supply, pump operation and fire attack.
Firefighter Agrella is now certified at the level of Firefighter I and II and in hazardous material operation.
He previously worked for New Bedford EMS as a certified paramedic and is a graduate of Bridgewater State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.
Firefighter Agrella will be assigned to Group Four and work under Capt. Larry Blye.
“It’s great to have Firefighter Agrella back from training and part of the staffing during a time when so many personnel are needed to help with our response to COVID-19,” said Chief Partridge. “I am confident that he will serve the department and the Town of Easton well and we look forward to working alongside him.”
