Salem Police Arrest New York Man Following Attempted Robbery
SALEM — Deputy Chief Joel Dolan reports that the Salem Police Department arrested a New York man on Tuesday following an alleged attempted robbery.
At 7:04 p.m. on Tuesday, Salem Police responded to the area of 99 Rockingham Park Blvd. following a 911 call during which dispatchers heard an individual shouting “Stop!” Dispatchers were able to call the number back, and learned that the caller was an individual who believed he had interrupted a robbery.
Upon arrival, officers came upon three men in a parking lot. After an initial investigation, police learned that two suspects had attempted to steal a bag of i-Phones from the victim after grabbing him and throwing him to the ground while he was walking to his car.
The victim was treated for minor injuries on scene.
BRAYAN FELIZ, 21, OF NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK was charged with Robbery and will be arraigned in Rockingham County Superior Court on Nov. 25. He was released from police custody on $1,000 bail.
Salem Police are still seeking the second suspect involved in the attempted robbery, who is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” tall, believed to be in his late teens or early twenties, with dreadlocks in two buns. The suspect was wearing all black at the time of the incident.
