Bridgewater Police Cite Man Who Allegedly Caused Truck to Crash into Building
BRIDGEWATER — Chief Christopher Delmonte reports that a man has been cited after he allegedly caused a crash where a pickup truck struck the front of a liquor store on Monday.
TERRANCE KINGMAN, AGE 60, of TAUNTON was issued a citation for Following Too Closely and Failure to Use Care in Stopping. KINGMAN will be issued a summons to appear in court at a later date.
At approximately 3:45 p.m. Monday, the Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a crash at Starr Liquors, 460 Pleasant St.
Upon arrival, officers located a 2016 red GMC Canyon pickup truck that had crashed into the front wall of the store.
A 30-year-old Bridgewater man, who was inside of the store at the time of the crash, was treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Through the subsequent investigation, it was determined that the female driver of the GMC pickup truck, a 53-year-old Bridgewater woman, was travelling east on Pleasant Street when she attempted to take a right turn into the parking lot of the liquor store.
When doing so, KINGMAN, who was driving a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder, allegedly struck the rear-end of the pickup truck, causing the truck to crash into the front of the building.
Neither driver was injured in the incident.
The building sustained substantial damage and is being examined by local building inspectors. The business has been temporarily closed until it can be determined if it is structurally sound.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
